A FEATURE FILM SCRIPT I WROTE...
'Pink City Peacock' is a comedic drama about a conman hiding from the police at an abandoned temple, who decides to play along when he's mistaken for a holy man. His best friend sets up a fake charity by pretending that the Swami does a daily 'Fast for Humanity'. With the power of social media, donations start to roll in. And so do the problems.
When two little girls become terminally sick the Swami finds himself catapulted into the global consciousness as the only one who can save their lives by fasting for a miraculous recovery. With the stakes sky-high, and the world's media watching, what starts out as a money making scam suddenly becomes a quest for survival as the fake Swami faces the greatest challenge of his life: can he perform a real miracle, or does he die trying?
Written for the social media generation and packed with pop culture references 'Pink City Peacock' goes in as a high jinks comedy and comes out as a powerful satire on the perils of fame and fortune and what it means to be your true authentic self. Low budget, family friendly indie.
